Cefn Village Fete

The Cefn Village Fete will be held this year at the Neuadd Owen Village Hall and field on June 24  For the second year St Mary’s Church will join with All Saints church Sinan to organise this year’s event. After a successful event last year the organisers are promising an even “bigger and better” one this year. It will start at 1.00 pm and go on until 11.00 pm.  You can come and go at will throughout the day because there is no charge to enter the field (car park). The extended hours over previous ye2009_0516(001)aars is needed to accommodate all the additional attractions and activities.

The traditional fete, which one visitor to the area described as “…….just like fetes used to be……” will in addition to the usual features, include this year, the Beulah Brass band, rides for children around the field on a tractor trailer, an opportunity to visit Cefn Caves, which are normally closed to the public and starting at 6.00 pm a Hog Roast with entertainment by the Take 3 Jazz Band. A pop up bar will be open from 4.00 pm until 11.00 pm. fete'16 aThat is not all, in addition there will be a display of vintage cars and tractors and an opportunity to compare the size and capability of a large modern tractor with a vintage Massey Ferguson, There will also be one of the latest Eddie Stobart’s trucks and an opportunity to win a ride in it, To add to this list there will be a Cake stall stocked with home-made cakes which people have  been known to travel miles to buy; Prize Draw with a 1st prize of £100; BBQ; Book stall and Refreshments,


Something for all the family to enjoy

There was a large crowd last year and everyone agreed it was a wonderful event, and with more on offer this year it is a day to look forward to and one not to be missed.

The proceeds will go towards tthe upkeep of the churches in the parish, St Mary’s, Cefn and All Saints, Sinan and two charities, St Kentigern’s Hospice and Kanzi Kibera friends.

Plas yn Cefn Gardens open                 1pm to 5pm

Guided walks to Cefn Caves               3pm; 3.30pm; 4pm; ad 4.30pm

Pop up bar                                           from 4pm

Hog roast and Jazz band                     6pm to 11.00pm
