The Church of St. John the Baptist is located in the Pentrobin district of the benefice, close to the village of Penymynydd. It was consecrated in 1843 and is a listed building.

Opening Times

The church is open on the last Saturday of each month. Please check opening times in the news/events part of our site.

The interior is richly decorated with murals depicting scenes from the life of Christ,the work of the first priest in charge, John Ellis Troughton, who also designed and made the stained glass windows, which depict the Stations of the Cross. A tablet commemorating his work was placed in the baptistry by Victorian Prime Minister, W.E. Gladstone.
