Second Chancel Window

Photo17_17 The theme of this window is based on Psalm 100,  and   portrays King David surrounded by musicians and singers, to remind us of the important place held by the Ministry of Music in our religious tradition. The text displays the figures in verse 2 of Psalm 100 – “Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.” Appropriate symbols of traditional musical instruments are displayed in the head of the window, and the tracery section contains the symbol of King David, the star in the form of a jewel. It bears the inscription – “To the glory of God and in loving memory of George Harries Davies 1873-1959 and Elizabeth Davies 1872-1958 erected by their son Richard Owen Davies and his family.”
