The level of Fellowship members was maintained at 18 during 2014-2015, which is encouraging.
The annual “pilgrimage” to Gower churches in June was led as usual by Rev. Eldon Phillips culminating in sustenance and refreshments at the Greyhound Inn in Oldwalls. Eldon has offered his services again next year for which we are very grateful.
The Thespians of the Fellowship donned their costumes once again for the Christmas Cheer Festivities – we performed to rapturous applause and the delight of church members.
The subject matter provided by our speakers was, as usual, very varied and of high quality. They generated a lot of interest and many questions from the floor. The topics covered included: archaeology, old Llanelli, the futility of the Great War, London Theatre Land, the history of Television, Auschwitz and Patagonia. The Patagonia meeting was jointly held with the Mothers’ Union and was most enjoyable.
Financially, the Fellowship continues to be liquid having received a most welcome boost to funds from the “200 Club”
Members are looking forward to next year when Chris Hatchett will be installed as chairman and Eirwyn Edwards as Deputy.
Even though Alun Bowen Thomas has “retired” we are very grateful to him for putting together next year’s programme. We also thank Huw Davies for continuing as Treasurer, also after many years’ service.
Thanks also to Ray Howells for being an excellent chairman over the last two years.
