Updated: Praying for the Persecuted Church: Sunday 26 November
Next Sunday (26 November) we will hold our annual day of prayer for our sisters and brothers around the world who are persecuted or discriminated against because of their faith in Christ. In addition to our usual Sunday services, we will be holding a prayer vigil in Nolton from 2pm onwards, ending with Evensong at 6pm. Prayers will be offered during the afternoon, on the hour and half past the hour for different parts of the world where Christians are experiencing persecution. You are invited to drop in to offer a prayer, light a candle, or sit in silence for however long suits you. Further details will be available in next week’s Pews News, and if you would like to help with organising the vigil please contact our parish Reader, Huw Jones, on huw@cnb-parish.org.uk or speak to one of the clergy who will pass on your details.

Nolton Christmas Tree Festival 1-9 Dec: – Help Needed
It’s not much more than a month until this year’s Festival opens to the public, and as in previous years we’re looking for ‘church sitters’ to be in church during the weekdays, and also Saturday 2nd. If you can spare an hour or two please let the Office, or the clergy, or Gaynor Coles know – all offers of assistance are greatly appreciated!

Bridgend Ministry Area – Service of Cross-Licensing: December 10th
Earlier this year information was circulated about the development of the new Bridgend Ministry Area, involving our Benefice and the adjoining Benefices of Newcastle, together with Laleston and Merthyr Mawr with Penyfai. (This is also available on the parish website, bottom of the home page.) Over the last few months the licensed ministers have been working on an agreement with regard to ministry, and now we are to be cross-licensed to each other’s parishes at a special service to take place in St Illtyd’s, Newcastle. It will be held at 6pm on Sunday 10th December, and so there will be no evening services in our Benefice that day. We would hope for a good turn out from all the congregations in the Ministry Area.
