This week saw the feast of St Nicholas, a 4th century Bishop of Myra, now in modern Turkey.
St Nicholas is the patron saint of children (and is the real father christmas).
The good Bishop overheard a conversation about a family who through extreme poverty were about to sell their daughters into slavery.
St Nicholas secretly threw 3 purses of gold coins through their window one night, and so saved the three girls from a dreadful fate.
On Sunday 6th December, we celebrated the Feast of St Nicholas with a visit by the kind old Bishop to our churches at St David’s and St Tudor’s
