St Mary/Santes Fair Llanfair-yn-y-Cwmwd

Eglwys fechan hynafol – does dim dyddiad penodol iddi. Gwelir ambell i greiryn hynafol ynddi sef: caead arch cerrig (16eg canrif?), bedyddfan, cloch o’r 17eg canrif. Mae ffenestr liw mewn dwy ran er cof am Dr Williams a Mrs Elizabeth Williams. Gwelir arni arfbeisiau prifysgolion Bangor a Chaeredin. Yn y fynwent mae bedd Mr Wilks ‘Tros Afon’ – dyfeisiwr y Land Rover.

Gwasanaethau
Yn yr haf o Fis Ebrill tan fis Medi, cynhelir gwasanaethau ar y 4ydd Sul o’r mis am 2yh. Cynhelir y Diolchgarwch ar y 4ydd nos Wener ym mis Medi am 6.30yh.
Mae’r gwasanaethau i gyd yn iaith Cymraeg, heblaw pan fydd gwasanaeth y 5ed Sul o’r mis (Cymun am 10.30yb). Mae honno yn ddwyieithog.

St Mary’s is a small ancient church although there is no specific date for it. There are a few ancient relics: a stone coffin lid (16th century?), a font, and a 17th century bell. There is a two-part stained glass window in memory of Dr Williams and Mrs Elizabeth Williams, showing the coats of arms of Bangor and Edinburgh universities. In the cemetery is the grave of Mr Wilks ‘Tros Afon’ – the inventor of the Land Rover.

Services
Services take place in summer from April to September, on the 4th Sunday of the month at 2pm. The Harvest thanksgiving will take place on the 4th Friday in September at 6.30pm. All services are in Welsh, except where there is a service on the 5th Sunday of the month (Communion at 10.30am), which is bilingual.
