Rev Marian Sturrock is arranging regular social gatherings for our Ukrainian brothers and sisters who have found themselves relocated in the locality of Llanelli, from the war in Ukraine.
This is the 3rd gathering Marian has hosted over a period of a few weeks, they have been held at Felinfoel Church Hall and at St Peters.
Marian talks about the meet-ups which such warmth and expresses how humbling it is to see these families who have fled for their lives, leaving everything behind, coming together and enjoying the important things in life – faith and friendship.
We are hoping that these gatherings will become a regular feature in our churches as they provide a chance for these families to chat, socialise and enjoy with other families from their country who are experiencing starting a new life in a foreign country.
Pictured below you can see the families, chatting over a cup of coffee and cake and looking through and sharing all the donations of clothes received. On previous meet ups prayers have been shared and sunflowers (Ukraine’s National Flower) made.
