The Parish of Pontypridd Saint Catherine

CROESO ~ WELCOME. We are one church in the parish of Pontypridd, about 10 miles north of Cardiff city centre.  Our parish life, worship and mission brings a mix of traditional and contemporary approaches.

CONNECT is our hub of mission operating out of our renovated church hall for children’s and adult groups, our community cafe and hiring of rooms. To find out more, please visit click here

As Pontypridd is a University town, students are welcomed to take as much of a role as they feel is right for them. Students are welcome to help in leading Sunday worship, or joining with midweek groups or getting involved with Street Pastors or Foodbank.

We make an effort to help students connect with local people to help them settle into the town if that is what they might like, and we are always happy to support people looking to know more about the Christian faith or who are facing their own challenges.

During these unusual times, please check out our Facebook channel at

Pontypridd Parish is a registered charity, no 1165251 and our parish website is

St Catherine’s Church, Gelliwastad Grove, Pontypridd CF37 2BS.  We are the church half way between the train station and the bus station, the one with the clock tower and tall spire.

Over recent years we’ve felt inspired to shape our church life around the message from the Old Testament book of Isaiah, chapter 61 where we sense that the Spirit of the Lord is upon us to proclaim good news into the brokenness of the community.  We think of ourselves as Living and Proclaiming God’s Restoring Love, with a keen desire to link up with other local churches in to seek oneness in our shared witness.
