St Catherine

CROESO ~ WELCOME. We are one church in the parish of Pontypridd, about 10 miles north of Cardiff city centre.  Our parish life, worship and mission brings a mix of traditional and contemporary approaches. CONNECT is our hub of mission operating out of our renovated church hall for children’s and adult groups, our community cafe and hiring of rooms.

As the town centre Anglican church, with clock tower and spire, the church is a landmark building in Pontypridd.   Soon to be 150 years old, the church building has been recently connected to the hall, creating a hub of community life.  There is an ethos based on Isaiah 61, proclaiming good news.  Over 500 people come through the doors each week and 140 people volunteering in church life and mission through community projects – café,  Street Pastors, Christians Against Poverty, toddler’s groups and Foodbank.  Everyone is encouraged to discern how their life can further God’s kingdom and through his grace, individuals and families are coming to faith

The four congregations have diverse backgrounds, cultures and languages, the tone of worship is inclusive of many traditions and lots of members are new to faith or have connections to other denominations.  A key aspect of St Catherine’s is to work alongside other churches and this includes a strong link to an Anglican church in Uganda, with regular exchanges.
