The Beacons Benefice
As the Covid restrictions ease
Church services: We have now reopened four of our six churches – Llanfrynach, Llanfeugan, Cantref and Llanhamlach Church for services on the first, second, third and fourth Sunday in the month respectively. Arrangements for any fifth Sundays in the month will be announced. The usual Sunday service is Communion, but the actual details will always be given in the weekly News post (see top right hand side of this page).
Because of the need for social distancing, we are limited in the number of people we can accommodate in church services. So if you want to come to a particular service could you please let Kelvin or Liz know by phone or email by mid-day on the Saturday before that Sunday service. All the above-mentioned churches are reasonably well ventilated. Under the current regulations, face masks will need to be worn so please bring one with you, although disposable masks will also be available. Whether singing is possible at any service now depends on prevailing infection rates (cases per 100,000). Communion will be given with the wafer bread only, not wine from the cup.
Worship from home. We also have a weekly Ministry Area notice-sheet with short service to read at home. We also have a weekly video service on YouTube and are holding weekly Sunday services on Zoom. Details of all these are in our current News Post.
Please see our During Covid-19 webpage for more details, including further services and help are available at this time alongside God’s continued love. The clergy on the Ministry Team can also be contacted by phone or email. For any enquiries or particular needs, please contact Revd Kelvin Richards, Priest in Charge.
We are a group of six churches covering an area to the south east of Brecon, with the Brecon Beacons to the south and the valley of the River Usk to the north. Together with the five churches in the Parish of Llyn Safaddan we make up the Ministry Area of the Beacons and Llyn Safaddan. The churches and their ministry are available to anyone who lives in or visits the area – not just people who attend church regularly on Sundays.
