Covid Stable

Now that Wales is moving from the Covid pandemic to a ‘Covid Stable’ epidemic situation, we are developing a ‘new normal’ approach to our regular services.  Five of our six churches are open for worship with the pattern of services as announced and updated on the church services News post on this website (see top RHS of Home Page or the News webpage).

We are returning to 10.00am for Holy Communion on Sundays as from Sunday 1 May.  The churches in the Beacons Benefice that are now open for worship are Cantref, Llandetty, Llanfeugan, Llanfrynach and Llanhamlach.  Llandetty is kept locked at other times for security reasons.

PRECAUTIONS IN Church Services.

The Covid virus is still circulating and everyone should exercise caution in their behaviour and be considerate to others. The Church in Wales Bishops have updated their requirements for church services in line with Welsh Government regulations – click here if you wish to see all the details.  We currently observe the following precautions iin our Benefice churches –

Social distancing: Maintaining 2m social distancing – you will be shown where to sit.

Ventilation: Our churches are reasonably well ventilated with fresh air.

Wearing of face coverings: You are asked to be considerate to others and wear a face covering.

Singing in church and organ music:  This now allowed, although we don’t always have an organist. We then have recorded music.

Holy Communion:  Only the wafer (bread) and not wine is given by the priest to those in the congregation wishing to receive communion.

No booking:  We no longer require those attending to book a place.

If you are unable to, do not wish to, and cannot attend church services, we also have the following:

Ministry Area Weekly Notice-sheet  We are continuing to publishing a weekly notice-sheet which contains a short service to follow at home with readings, prayers and a short address together with news and notices from Kelvin as Priest in Charge,  You’ll find a link to the current Notice-sheet in a weekly News Post in the list on the right side of the Home Page.  All Notice-sheets are archived on the Notice-sheet webpage.

Ministry Area Video-services  We are continuing to record video-services from time to time and stream these via YouTube, although not weekly.  You’ll find a link to the most recent video-service in the weekly News Post on the right side of the Home Page.
