During Covid-19

Limited Church opening

During the Covid-19 pandemic, in line with Welsh Government and Church in Wales regulations, only a limited number of our churches are open. The current plan is to open one church for worship in each parish of the Ministry Area – Llangors Church in Llyn Safaddan and Llanfrynach Church in the Beacons Benefice.

CHURCH SERVICES   In our Ministry Area, we begin with a service at 10.30am on Sunday 30th August at Llangors, then subsequently at 10.30am in Llanfrynach on the 1st and 3rd Sundays in September, and 10.30am in Llangors on the 2nd and 4th Sundays in September.  You should contact Revd Kelvin Richards or, failing that, one of the Ministry Team if you wish to attend as numbers are restricted by social distancing.  See the News Posts for details.

The Church in Wales is in the ‘Amber Phase’ of re-opening with strict safety measures, including maintaining a two-metre distance between people and ensuring sufficient hygiene and cleaning protocols are in place. This means that worship looks and feels quite different from the pre-Covid worship, presently without Communion oe singing.

PRIVATE PRAYER    Brecon Cathedral is open for private/personal prayer on Mondays to Fridays from 11.00am to 4.00pm.  On Sundays it is open from noon (after the morning service) until 3.00pm.

What ELSE IS Available in THE BEACONS BENEFICE TO help you

Be assured that God’s love for us remains. In the absence of our previous church services, we have the following:

Ministry Area Weekly Notice-sheet  We are publishing a weekly notice-sheet which contains a weekly letter and notices about all the Sunday services from Kelvin Richards as Priest in Charge or one of the clergy in the Ministry Team, together with a short service to follow at home with readings, prayers and a short address.  You’ll find a link to the current Notice-sheet in a weekly News Post in the list on the right side of the Home Page.  All Notice-sheets are then archived on the Notice-sheet webpage.

Ministry Area Video-services  We are also recording a video-service for each Sunday and stream these via YouTube.  Each time we publish a video-service, we’ll highlight this and give the link to YouTube in the weekly News Post on the right side of the Home Page.

Live Zoom services  We also hold live services via Zoom each Sunday at 10.30am.  Those in our Ministry Area are welcome to join these, but you need to contact or have been in touch with one of the Ministry Team beforehand to get the link for you to join.  Liz Bramley also holds Zoom services, currently fortnightly, for the Family Church group that used to meet monthly in the Henderson Hall – contact Liz for details.

Ministry and support  The Ministry Team is always available to be contacted by phone or email.  And our congregations exist within our local communities where we must all keep in contact with and help one another as far as possible.

Enquiries   For any enquiries please contact Revd Kelvin Richards, Priest in Charge.
